However, care should be taken to ensure that no one is disturbed, otherwise legal action will be taken, Alok Kumar, Additional Director General of Police, Law and Order Department of the state, has clarified while speaking on the issue of the grand meeting being organized on behalf of the Maharashtra Integration Committee during the winter session of the state government.
The winter session of the Karnataka Government Legislature is being held in Belgaum. At the same time, an atmosphere of tension has been created between the two states over the border issue for the past few days. Against this background, on Tuesday, Additional Director General of Police Alok Kumar held a border meeting of police officers at Nipani. After that a meeting was held with Police Headquarters and Police Commissionerate officials. During this meeting he made the above explanation while reviewing the arrangement. The winter session of the Legislature will start from December 19 in Belgaum.
Protests will be held on behalf of various union organizations during this convention. So no untoward incident should happen. No damage should be done. Necessary precautions will be taken for this. 4000 policemen will be appointed for security.
A total of 35 units are deployed. Seven-eight district police chiefs, 38 deputy superintendents of police, 80 police inspectors will be appointed during the session. Speaking to the media, Alok Kumar said that he will take all measures to ensure that the session is conducted peacefully.
At the same time, speaking on the issue that Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti will organize a Marathi-speaking conference during the session, Alok Kumar said there is no obstacle to peaceful protest. But care should be taken not to disturb anyone. Otherwise legal action will be taken, he said.
