A delegation of MPs from Belgaum district has demanded that daily flights should be started from Belgaum to Delhi and Mumbai.
Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya has submitted the demand for this air service which has been closed from Belgaum. The said services were closed since last December 10, many people were expressing displeasure, Belgaum MPs who finally woke up have met the Union Minister for the aviation service. Khasdar Mangala Angadi, Irna Kadadi, and Chikodi MP Annasaheb Jolle have met Aviation Minister Scindia.
Due to non-operation of daily flights from Belgaum to Delhi and Mumbai, traders and entrepreneurs are facing inconvenience. So they either have to travel by road to Hubli or Goa and go to Delhi by plane.
Apart from this, for the first time after four years, the Auto Expo will be held in Delhi on January 11. Therefore, the entrepreneurs and businessmen of Belgaum and the area will go to Delhi.
Many big companies including Tata, Hyundai, Suzuki participate in the Auto Expo. The spare parts sellers in Belgaum go there for shopping and also since Mumbai is the financial capital of the country, a request was made by the Belgaum Automobile Merchants Association to MP (Rajya Sabha) Iranna Kadadi recently.
Association president Sharad Patil had sent such a statement to Kadadi. Taking immediate note of that statement, MP (Rajya Sabha) Iranna Kadadi met Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia in Delhi and requested him to start daily flight services from Belgaum to Delhi and Mumbai as soon as possible. He also submitted a statement to that effect. President of Belgaum Automobile Merchants Association Sharad Patil has thanked him for this.
