Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has announced the formation of Kittur Karnataka Vikas Mandal for the overall development of Kittur Karnataka region. Similarly, he also said in Bangalore that IVF clinics will be started in four medical science institutes of the state, including KIM’s, at a cost of around Rs 6 crore each.
Addressing the Legislative Assembly in Bangalore, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that an investigation would be carried out to convert Bidar and Raichur municipalities into municipal status, and airports would be constructed at five places namely Shimoga, Vijayapura, Raichur, Hassan and Karwar. Out of these airports at Shimoga and Vijayapura will be operational this year, he also explained.
Administrative approval has been received for the construction of the airport at Ballari and the construction of the airport will be done on Public Private Partnership (PPP model). The state government will sanction a fund of Rs 320 crore for upgrading the Mysore airport. A feasibility report for the construction of airports at Koppal and Davangiri has been prepared and steps will be taken soon for the construction of airports. The Chief Minister further informed that besides creating mini textile parks at various 25 places across the state, mega textile parks will be set up at Raichur, Vijayapura, Kalburgi and Chikkamangalur.
A startup park will be set up near the Kempegowda International Airport at a cost of around Rs 30 crore. Nekar Samman Assistance has been increased from Rs.3000 to Rs.5000.
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai also said that under the development of Anjanadri Hill, various development works have been taken up costing about 100 crore rupees.
