Ujire, March 20: The short film ‘Ilibonu’ produced by the students of the Post Graduate Center of Journalism and Mass Communication of Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwar College here won the third prize in the national short film festival ‘Cinerama 2023’ organized by the Department of Visual Communication, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeeth, Mysore.
A short film festival was held on March 10 and 11 at the institution’s premises in Bogadi, Mysore, and film actor and producer Dolly Dhananjay presented the award at the closing ceremony. ‘Ilibonu’ director Sampath Kumar Rai and editor, S.D.M. Director of Multimedia Studio- Video Productions Rakshit Rai received the award.
The award is Rs.5000. Includes cash, trophy and certificates.
Ilibonu short film
A 29-minute ‘dark humor’ short film ‘Ilibonu’ by Ujire S.D.M. College SDM Presented by Multimedia Studio, Journalism student Sampath Kumar Rai has written and directed the story-screenplay-dialogues and acted the roles.
In the style of black humor or dark comedy, this short film shows the importance of phone/social media abuse and how innocent people fall victim to it, as well as values of father-son bond.
In this short film released on September 2, 2022, senior artist- Shashidhar K. of Dharmasthala. (Shambhu) played the lead role. The rest are acted by students and college staff.
