Mumbai: Carnatic music scholar Bombay Jayashree was rushed to hospital after he was found unconscious in his hotel room in the UK.
The Oscar-nominated singer suffered from a brain aneurysm. It is reported that he underwent surgery later.
The renowned singer was recently awarded the prestigious title of “Sangeetha Kalanidhi” for 2023 by The Madras Music Academy in Chennai. Irrfan starrer ‘Life of Pi’ was nominated for an Oscar for the title song ‘Pi’s Lullaby’. He is known for his distinct voice and ability to sing in all four South Indian languages and in Hindi. In 2021, he was awarded the Padma Shri, India’s fourth highest civilian award.
