Belgaum : The facility of paying electricity through the online platform has been closed since last month and the time has come for citizens to go to Hescom’s electricity bill payment center and queue up for hours.
There is a large crowd of citizens at the power charging station and the citizens are also facing problems like heatstroke, traffic problems, work stress, wastage of time and the citizens are demanding to provide the facility of paying the electricity bill through mobile wallet immediately.
The facility of paying electricity bill online or through mobile wallet has been closed since last month. It was said by Hescom that this facility will be restored this month. However, this facility has not been started yet.
Since citizens can pay electricity bills from their mobile phones at home, there is no need to go to bill payment centers and queue up for hours. It was convenient to pay bills through apps like Phone Pay, Google Pay, Bharat Pay, Paytm. This facility was provided by Hescom for the last five to six years.
Due to this, the number of online bill payers has increased tremendously. In the month of April, Hescom closed this facility for a few days due to some technical problems between Hescom and mobile app companies. Citizens had to go to the nearby HESCOM bill payment center as well as the Belgaon Forest Office to pay the bill as they could not pay the bill through mobile phones. Citizens are standing in queues at the bill payment centers at Railway Station, Goaves, Shahapur, Khanjar Galli, Nehrunagar. Along with this, the Belgaon Forest Office is also getting crowded to pay the bill.
Hescom office at Railway Station, Goaways, Shahapur, Dharwad Road, Khanjar Galli, Nehrunagar Bill Bharna Center, Risaldar Galli, TV Center, Ashoknagar, Goaways, Belgaon Forest Offices at Vadgaon, Gram Panchayat Office for rural areas are also paying bills.
There are technical difficulties in the servers of Hescom administration and related mobile wallet companies and this service is likely to be restored from next month. Therefore, citizens are requested to pay the bill at Hescom website, Hescom bill payment center and Belgaon One.
