Kochi: Malayalam actor Harish Pengan, who was suffering from liver disease, breathed his last at a private hospital here on Tuesday, sources in the film industry said.
The 49-year-old actor was admitted to the hospital earlier this month due to stomach pain. Then his health deteriorated.
Doctors suggested a liver transplant and Pengan’s twin sister agreed to be a donor. But his friends started collecting money as he did not have the necessary funds for the treatment. At this time Pengan’s condition worsened and he breathed his last at 3.25 pm on Tuesday.
He acted in films like ‘Maheshante Prathikaram’, ‘Shepheekane Santosham’, ‘Honey Bee 2.5’, ‘Vellaripattanam’, ‘Jane Mann’, ‘Jaya Jaya Jaya Jay Hai’, ‘Priyan Ottathilanu’, ‘Joe and Joe’.
