Mumbai: Arun Govil, who played the role of Rama in the 1987-88 TV show ‘Ramayana’ and acted in two other mythological serials, shot the film ‘Aru Ombattu Five (6,9,5)’ about the Ram Janmabhoomi movement. 95% completed.
Govil plans to release the film at the time of the inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. He was recently seen in the web series ‘Jubilee’ where he is portrayed as a Karachi cinema owner who migrates to Mumbai in the wake of partition. Govil plays the role of a ‘sadhu’ who devotes his life to the Ram Janmabhoomi movement in ‘Aaru Nobattu Five (6,9,5)’.
The film is named after the three numbers that Govil considers most significant to the Ram Janmabhoomi movement. The Babri Masjid was demolished on December 6, 1992. On November 9, 2019, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of Ram Janmabhoomi. And Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the new temple on August 5, 2020. This is why the film got the name of 6,9,5.
‘Six Nine Five (6,9,5)’ has been shot at many locations in Ayodhya. Filming has been done at Hanuman Garhi, Dasharath Mahal, Digambar Akada, Ram Ki Paidi, Guptar Ghat, Raj Ghat and Junki Ghat. Arun said that the cast members were emotional during the shoot.
