Even though the revenue staff of Belgaum Municipal Corporation have been busy in the Anganwadi survey for a month, the Municipal Corporation has collected as much as Rs. 31 crores till July 5. In this way, the lead of the municipal corporation in mortgage recovery remains.
In the review meeting of the Guardian Minister, information was given that till June 7 last month, Rs. After that, within a month, the revenue department has been able to recover Rs 5 crore as house rent. Revenue officials have been tasked with finding government premises or buildings for Anganwadi centers to be set up in private buildings in the city since last month.
Therefore, the revenue officials could not focus on mortgage recovery. Still, the income holders of the city have filled the house spontaneously. That is why along with the collection of Rs. 5 crores within a month, till yesterday 5th July 2023, the municipal corporation has accumulated a total of Rs.
This year, the assembly election process which started in the month of April continued till May 15. The officers and employees of the municipal corporation were busy in the election process. Therefore, the collection of house rent was neglected. After that, since the last one month, revenue officials are busy in Anganwadi survey. But still this year the rate of house rent recovery is good.
In the last financial year, the Municipal Corporation has collected a record Rs. 51 crore as house rent. Therefore, the revenue department is facing the challenge of collecting more house rent this year. However, there is talk that it is having an impact on the collection of rent as the revenue officers are given survey and other tasks.
