Signal system is working in many places in the city. However, the problem of traffic congestion in the city has come to the fore due to unruly, illegally parked vehicles, four-wheelers parked all day next to the signal system, huge vehicles parked in useless bus stand sheds, shops set up by street vendors, encroachment of vendors and hawkers on footpaths and overall increased number of vehicles. is

The scorching heat is intensifying, narrow roads on one side, potholes on the road, and traffic police blocking motorists, forcing helmets and honking horns in traffic jams! All these things predict the traffic problem in the city. Looking at the traffic problems at various places, it is noticed that the traffic department and the administration are inexcusably neglecting it. Every year around the month of March, the traffic police stop the drivers and fine them for one reason or the other. Documents are checked. Many a times we have also seen the police levying gratuitous fines from motorists. But as much caution is shown in imposing fines on motorists for violating traffic rules, why is not the same caution shown in solving traffic and traffic problems? Such a question also arises.
The purpose of the flyovers built around the city was to solve the problem of traffic in the city. However, instead of getting rid of the traffic problems, most of the traffic jams are seen in this area. Not only this, people are also alleging that money worth lakhs of rupees has been crushed due to house full crowding on the flyovers as well. In many places traffic congestion is seen due to negligence of traffic police. Except for the signal system in the central part of the city, it is seen that the signal system in the surrounding area is often ineffective. Even though roads have been expanded all over the city, motorists have to struggle to make their way through long queues of vehicles. Development was achieved in Belgaum known as Smart City. The city is now becoming a smart city. However, when will the people of Belgaon get rid of the traffic problem in the city that runs all day? But this question is still unanswered.
