Belgaon : The stock of water in the Rakskop Reservoir, which supplies water to the entire city, has been taken and there is a possibility of disruption in water supply to the people of Belgaum in the beginning of summer.
From the first week of February, Belgaum residents have to use water sparingly. The Water Supply Board and L&T Company have informed through a letter that water supply schedule will also collapse due to storage of water in Rakskop Reservoir.
Compared to last year, the water storage in the Rakskop reservoir has decreased by four feet and there is a possibility that the people of Belgaum will face water shortage in the coming time. In this background, the schedule of water supply will also be changed.
There will be disruption in water supply even in the ward which has 24 hours water supply. At present, water is supplied every 4 days in some parts of the city. But now there is a possibility that water will be supplied every 5 to 6 days.
Depletion of water storage in Rakskop Reservoir may lead to disruption of water supply. Due to this, citizens have been requested to cooperate with the Water Supply Board and L&T Company through a letter.
