Bhavna HS (30) hailing from Banashankari, Bangalore has passed the Central Civil Services Examination 2022 with All India Rank 55th and is the first topper from Karnataka. He was on duty in Solapur, Maharashtra when the UPSC results were out. When the results are out, he has more than enjoyed the fruits of his hard work knowing that he has passed CSE.

She did her primary education at Bishop Cotton Girls School in Bangalore and Electronics and Communication Engineering at Sri Venkateswara Engineering College, Yelahanka. Specially he joined Railway Traffic Service in 2018 by clearing CSE with AIR 314. Later he was posted as Assistant Operations Manager in Solapur.

The 2022 UPSC CSE exam is Bhavna’s 6th attempt and this time she has passed in 55th rank.

Talking about her path to success, Bhavna said, ‘It was a very late decision that I should write the UPSC exam. Started preparing for UPSC in 2016, inspired by our mother, dreamed of UPSC. After my mother got divorced, I was well educated and brought up with the help of my grandfather. With my experience with all hardships, I realized that passing UPSC can serve the underprivileged in education, health and society. Due to this, the UPSC dream has increased.

‘Besides working in Railway Traffic Service, getting guidance/help from his batchmates, seniors, friends, he was able to score well in UPSC exam. Initially my optional subject was Kannada literature. Later chose Anthropology. Got good guidance for this endeavor. I conducted group discussions through Google Meet, Zoom and prepared. All this preparation has rewarded me,” said Bhawan.

‘ Apart from the mains exam, I didn’t even think about coaching help. Conducted self-study’.
