The brutal murder of a youth in a private open space adjacent to the Jain College ground in Piranwadi came to light on Friday morning, causing a stir in the area.
The murdered youth has been identified as Arbaaz Rafiq Mulla (age 25, resident Piranwadi). He is believed to have been invited to a party last night and murdered.
The students of Jain College who came to the college in the morning noticed that a person was lying dead in an open space adjacent to the college grounds. Then he immediately informed the police about it. On receiving the information, the local DSP and officials of Belgaum Rural Police Station visited the spot and inspected it. Similarly, the panchnama was done and the body was sent to the Civil Hospital for post-mortem
Earlier, the police dog team was called and an attempt was made to trace the killers. But the dog team went some distance and got stuck at that place. At this time, college students and onlookers had gathered at the spot.
