Citizens need to be aware of rising electricity bills

Belgaum Live : The recent increase in fixed charges and Fuel Cost Adjustment Charge (FAC) or Fuel and Power Purchase Cost Adjustment Charge (FPPCA) in electricity bills has shocked consumers since last month. This charge will continue in the month of July and the coming month of August as well and according to the new change the electricity bills have increased significantly.

Currently, FAC for the month of July in the increased power bill is 1.91 per unit, while it was 2.55 for the month of May. Now for the month of August, the charge will be 1.45 per unit, the Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) has published an order dated June 30, 2023.
