Mumbai: The teaser of Veer Savarkar’s biopic ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’ was released on May 28, his (Savarkar’s) 140th birthday.
Actor Randeep Hooda has directed the film, which has already been mired in controversy even before its release. Utkarsh Naitani has written the story.
This is Randeep’s background voice in the teaser. It is said that the 90 years of freedom struggle would have ended very quickly if people had waged an armed struggle.
Also, it is said in the teaser that some who participated in the freedom struggle wanted to get political mileage.
Speaking at the release of the teaser of the film, Hooda said this. Before making a film on Savarkar, while compiling information for his biography, I was thrilled to see his path of struggle, bravery against the British. He said that he is proud to share the teaser on his birth anniversary.
In the teaser, there is a reference to the British calling Veer Savarkar “the most wanted Indian for the British”. It is also mentioned that Bhagat Singh inspired Subhash Chandra Bose to become revolutionaries. The main point of the teaser of the film is that if Mahatma Gandhi had not been stubborn and supported the revolutionaries based on the principles of violence, India would have been able to get independence 35 years earlier than 1947.
