The Smart City Department will start a multi-purpose hi-tech learning center at a total of 20 places such as student hostels and residential schools of Social Welfare and Minorities Department in Belgaum city.
Students from poor families and rural areas are not given education with the help of modern equipment. The concepts of digital class room, digital library do not really reach them. That is why multi-purpose hi-tech learning centers are going to be started in 20 places in the city. The Smart City scheme will be closed on June 30 and before that the scheme will be implemented in the city.
The Smart City Department has invited tenders from the organizations supplying the necessary materials for the said scheme. The amount of funds required for the scheme will be determined based on the lowest bid in the tender. This learning center will be used to teach the educational curriculum of the state to the students of government hostels, residential schools.
Apart from this, a digital library will be made available here. All the information needed to prepare for the competitive exams will be available here. Students in hostels and residential schools will be trained using information, communication and technology.
