The farmers of this area have made strong efforts to prevent their land from being acquired. However, the tender process for Belgaum to Dharwad route has been implemented. Therefore, an attempt has been made by the railway department to start the work against the opposition of the farmers.
243 crore 66 lakh rupees have been allocated for this railway line. The said railway line will be completed in two years. The total length of this railway line is 73.2 km. On this railway line, Belgaum, Desur, K.K. There will be a total of seven stations namely Kop, Kittur, Dharwad.
A total of 140 bridges will be constructed on this route. 335 hectares of land is likely to be acquired for this entire railway line. The survey work of the railway line has been completed. A grant has also been approved for the scheme. So the actual work is likely to start soon.
