Belgaum People are now fed up with the BJP government. Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Siddaramaiah expressed that there is a wave of Congress among the people and people want change now.
Siddaramaiah, who is visiting Belgaum in the background of Praja Dhvani Yatra, interacted with the media representatives at Sambara Airport. Siddaramaiah said that the Congress has carefully selected the candidates and the list of remaining voters will be announced in the next two days. A meeting was held on Thursday to decide the remaining candidates and he expressed his belief that there is no possibility of rebellion in the Congress.
The Lingayat community in North Karnataka is now aggressive and the leaders of the Lingayat community have not been contacted regarding the candidature, he said while replying to the media. He also said that the Praja Dhvani Yatra organized in Belgaum was canceled due to unseasonal rain. Siddaramaiah said that the Praja Dhvani Yatra has been organized at another place tomorrow.
After former Deputy Chief Minister Laxman Sawadi’s entry into the Congress, there is a discussion that displeasure is being expressed among the aspirants in Athani. Suddenly, leaders from other parties are entering the party and getting candidature on the eve of elections, this has created confusion among other aspirants. Commenting on this, Siddaramaiah said, we will discuss with the interested candidates and take a decision. He refrained from commenting on the rejection of MLA Anil Benke’s candidature in Belgaum North constituency.
He said that the people of the state are fed up with the corrupt governance of the BJP, inflation and the rulers and many have joined the Congress not only after the announcement of the BJP’s candidature, but even before that. He also said that the Congress is blowing the wind among the people, alleging that workers and leaders are being used by the BJP like ‘use and throw’.
