New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday condoled the death of veteran Telugu film producer and Dadasaheb Phalke awardee K. Vishwanath, who passed away this morning.
“Mr. K. Saddened by the death of Vishwanath Garu. He was a stalwart of the film world, distinguishing himself as a creative and versatile director. His films have spanned a variety of genres for decades and thrilled audiences. Condolences to his family and fans. Peace,” Modi tweeted.
Vishwanath left this world early Friday morning. He is 92 years old. Keerthi Vishwanath is credited with directing Shankarabharanam, Sagar Sangam and Siri Siri Muvva (which he remade in Hindi as Sargam, introducing Jayaprada) and Ishwar, Kamchor, Sanjog and many other Hindi films.
He has also done movies in Tamil. He was awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the country’s highest cinema honour, in 2016.
