Viewers say don’t make money by insulting God

Mumbai: The streaming show ‘Gandi Baat’ is often creating controversy with its content. This time it has been accused of hurting the religious sentiments of the Hindu community. The poster of the adult comedy web-series, Lakshmidevi’s lookalike, has been shared by the show’s management team, where a woman can be seen wearing an Indian dress. Similarly, there are two peacocks and a lotus flower. Many Twitter users were outraged that it was similar to the Hindu goddess Lakshmi and hurt religious sentiments.

“Stop such filth. @TeamEktaKapoor You shouldn’t be making money from a program that insults our Gods and Goddesses,” said one tweeter. Another tweeted, “#EktaKapoor says to ban serials. Gandi Baat’ is an adult comedy web series streaming on Ekta Kapoor owned ALT Balaji. Currently its 7th season is running.
