The development of the historic Rajhansgad near Belgaum city and the installation of a grand statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on the fort have now become political weapons. A political struggle has started to take credit for these things.
In fact, when Sanjay Patil was the MLA of Belgaum Rural Constituency, the development of Rajhans Fort was planned. Not only this, Sanjay Patil, who announced the erection of a replica of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at the fort, also got the green light for the project by inviting the then Tourism Minister Janardhan Reddy to Rajhans Fort.
. After that, grants have been approved from the Tourism Account, Kannada and Cultural Account and MLA Nidhi and the development of Rajhansa Fort has been achieved. A grand idol of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj has also been erected on the fort and the present MLA of Belgaum Rural Lakshmi Hebbalkar has started preparations for the inauguration ceremony of this idol in March.
On the other hand, former minister Ramesh Jarkiholi has put a lot of pressure on MLA Hebbalkar in a grand gathering held in Hirebagewadi village.
Although the BJP government has given grants for the development works at Rajhansgarh and the construction of the statue of Shiva Raya, preparations are being made to show that everything was done by the Congress. Our Chief Minister is still alive and Murthy will invite him for the inauguration.
MLA Lakshmi Hebbalkar is saying that I myself have achieved development by visiting Rajhans Gad. Overall, the inauguration of the development work on Rajhansa Fort is becoming the cause of conflict between the two. Former MLA Sanjay Patil has not yet entered this conflict.
