Belgaum : A training workshop was organized for the departmental officers appointed to perform their duties in the assembly elections at the Zilla Panchayat Hall on Friday. On this occasion Collector Nitesh Patil instructed the Divisional Officers to carry out the polling process in a peaceful manner and to perform their duties properly as per the election guidelines without causing any confusion and keeping law and order intact.
The Collector further said, election management is a very responsible job. New M-3 machines have already arrived for the election process. Officers should be informed in advance about the machines, newly appointed for election duty should perform their duties diligently, voter should be informed about the polling station number. He directed that since there are more schools in urban areas, the voters cannot get confused and vote, so they should take information from the BLs and write the polling station number, information, on the ticket to remove the confusion of the voters.
The Collector also suggested that polling stations with 1500 votes should be set up in urban areas and new polling stations should be set up in rural areas if there are more than 1200 votes. Candidates of any party should visit the sensitive areas where there is baiting and repression to create awareness among the voters. Therefore, Collector Nitesh Patil said that security will be provided by deploying more police forces at such places.
On this occasion, BEAMS Administrator Pritam Naslapure also gave advice and instructions to the officials. Municipal Officer Rudresh Ghali, Deputy Sub Divisional Officer of Belgaum Balram Chavan, Chief Executive Officer of BIMS Syed Bellary, Zilla Panchayat Chief Accountant Parushram Dudgunti and Election Officer participated in this training workshop.
