Mumbai: Veteran actor Jayant Savarkar passed away. He was 87 years old. This fact was confirmed by his son Kaustubh Savarkar. Many have mourned his death. Jayant was mostly recognized in Marathi and Hindi cinema. His popularity increased with the movie ‘Singam’. The cremation will be performed in the presence of relatives and friends.
‘Father had low blood pressure 15 days ago. We immediately admitted him to the hospital. However, his health had recently deteriorated drastically. He was kept on ventilator. However, the treatment has not been effective,’ said Kaustubh.
Jayant Savarkar has acted in Marathi, Hindi, theater and television. He was involved in acting for six decades. Kamalakant Bhosle acted in the Hindi movie ‘Singam’ released in 2011. This was the role of heroine Kajal Aggarwal’s grandfather. Jayant has painted in films like ‘Rocky Handsome’, ‘Vastav: The Reality’.
