Pursuant to the cause of elections, the municipal officials and employees are clearly ignoring cleanliness in the city wards. A delegation of Marathi corporators complained to the district collector today and submitted a statement demanding attention to ward cleanliness.
The municipal corporation has clearly neglected cleanliness in some parts of the city. Therefore, the cleanliness of the concerned ward is increasing day by day. This problem has arisen due to insufficient sanitation workers. In this regard, the local corporators have repeatedly complained to the concerned authorities including the municipal sanitation inspector, but it is not being taken into account.
The corporators who went to complain are being brushed off by the authorities saying that we have got election work, that work is important. Therefore, corporators Ravi Salunkhe, corporators Vaishali Bhatkande, Siddharth Bhatkande etc. finally reached the Collectorate office on Wednesday and met Collector (DC) Nitesh Patil.
On the occasion of the said visit, the corporators submitted a statement regarding ward cleanliness, water supply to the district collector. On this occasion, the corporators informed the collector that how the municipal officers and employees are avoiding their responsibility by telling the problem of unsanitary in their ward.
Also requested to increase the number of sweepers in the ward and order the concerned officials to take up the task of cleaning the ward immediately. The Collector has accepted the statement and promised to take appropriate action.
