He chose Medical Science as an optional subject for his UPSC Mains examination and studied his medical course books extensively. His feat and achievement is that he became an IAS officer after working 14 hours a day and studying in his spare time.

It is a good idea for Akshit to choose the Medical Science he studied as an optional subject for the Mains, but to study hard in his Week Sections/Subjects is another strategy. He has claimed these ideas in an interview.
