Los Angeles: Indian short documentary ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ won the Oscar in the Best Documentary Short category at the 95th Academy Awards.
The award was presented by Pedro Pascal. Short documentary ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ was in the competition along with ‘Howlout’, ‘How Do You Measure a Year?’, ‘The Martha Mitchell Effect’ and ‘Stranger at the Gate’. Directors Karthiki Gonsalves and Guneeth Monga received the award.
Talking about the film, Karthiki thanked the Oscars for co-existing and recognizing his work. The documentary is about the bond that develops between a couple and Raghu, an orphaned baby elephant entrusted to their care.
