Belgaum: Rani Channamma Mini Zoo at Bhootramhatti in Belgaum was inaugurated by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai today.
Speaking after the inauguration, MLA of Yamakanmardi Constituency and KPCC Working President Satish Jarkiholi said, after Mysore, the best animal museum has been set up at Bhootramhatti in Belgaum. The development of this zoo will be done in 5 phases and the work of the first phase has been completed. He assured that the rest of the work would be completed soon. Through this zoo, employment has been provided to local people with a fund of Rs 2 crore under the employment guarantee scheme. Also, the works related to the NREGA project in the development work here will be completed in the next 3 months, he said.
District Guardian Minister Govind Karjol, Public Works Department Minister C. C. Patil, Khas. Annasaheb Jolle, Charity Department Minister Sasikala Jolle, Forest Department Additional Chief Secretary Javed Akhtar, District In-charge Secretary L. K. Atiq, Regional Commissioner M. G. Hiremath, Dist. Pt. Chief Executive Officer Darshan H. V. Officers and employees of the forest department were also present.
