The tug of war of politics in Khanapur!

Belgaum : Ever since the assembly elections started, many aspirants have been seen marching. Although there is a picture that in this year’s Assembly elections, most of the candidates will be seen in rural constituencies, veteran candidates are preparing to enter the election fray in Khanapur constituency as well. Candidates who have started ‘fielding’ for the last six months in the background of the assembly elections are now gearing up to enter the election arena.

Hoping to get candidature for assembly election from BJP, M. A. Former MLA Arvind Patil, who joined the BJP after defying the committee, got 26613 votes in the last election. After this defeat, former Am. Arvind Patil took the path of the National Party. At present, former Deputy Chief Minister Laxman Sawadi and MLA Mahantesh Doddagoudar are supporting him politically. The support of the Lingayat community, through DCC Bank through Primary Krishipattan Sansthas and Sanstha Directors will be of great benefit to them. He also has great public relations due to his early work style.

On the other hand, BJP’s candidate Vitthal Halgekar, who came second with 31516 votes in the last election, also has a big PR. They also had to accept defeat due to the rebellion in BJP last time. But looking at the votes he got at the second place, Halgekar is more likely to be nominated in the upcoming elections. Apart from this, the way he started work on the second day of the result and the way he has been increasing public relations by conducting various activities till date, the party is more likely to nominate him.

Anjalitai Nimbalkar, the sitting MLA from Congress won the previous election with a margin of 36649 votes. Therefore, his candidature from Congress is certain. Although this is Jame’s positive side, there are complaints about him regarding the lack of public relations, considering the response of the people of Khanapur taluk about him. Till date he has emphasized on many development works. He will get recognition for the development work done during his tenure in this assembly election.

Nasir Bagwan, who secured 27,272 votes in the previous election, will also contest from JDS. Currently, he is going to enter the election arena for the fifth time and since last six months, he has been actively working in the constituency. They are always seen to be active before the elections by donating to temples, carrying out various activities in the constituency. He has also started his office 2 months ago and a Marathi man like Vishal Patil has been taken in the hands of Nasir Bagwan who has inclusive views. Therefore, there is a possibility that the sum of Marathi mothers will fall in his path through Vishal Patil in this election.

At present, the applications of 7 aspirants have been submitted to the Khanapur committee. Muralidhar Patil is also one of these 7 people. Muralidhar Patil is the Chairman of Khanapur PLD Bank. In 2004, he contested the assembly elections under the banner of Shiv Sena. At that time he got 12 to 13 thousand votes. Till date he has joined many parties other than BJP. Currently he is working very actively through the committee. He also has great public relations and currently there is a big claim for his candidacy.

Along with this, Abasaheb Dalvi is also willing to contest the election from the committee. After retirement, he is active in full-time politics and has taken the initiative to strengthen the committee once he was chaired by it. A senior figure in politics, he has increased his public relations since last year. Abasaheb Dalvi is also a contender for the committee nomination.

Presently Niranjan Sardesai is also active in the committee in a positive manner. Niranjan Sardesai, a young face and nephew of former three-time MLA Nilakantharao Sardesai, has also applied for the candidature. But will senior leaders in the committee give a chance to a new face? This is also a question.

Vilas Belgaonkar secured 17851 votes in the previous election. Despite being the official candidate of the Taluka Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti, the Belgaon who came fifth had to face a narrow defeat due to factional politics in Khanapur, the stronghold of the Samiti. In the last election, he contested from Lokkargani. Due to this, he can be nominated by the committee on the basis of sympathy in the upcoming assembly elections. And given the opportunity, there is no doubt that they can put up a good fight. Rukmanna Jhunjwadkar, Gopal Patil, Pandurang Sawant from the committee have also started their own efforts. But whose fate will support whom in the upcoming assembly elections? And it will be interesting to see whose name will emerge from the election churn.
