Belgaum News: Belgaum’s popular Sambara Airport has taken a leap towards redevelopment, providing better facilities to passengers within a short span of time. Due to the increasing number of passengers, Sambara Airport has overtaken Hubli Airport.
Looking at the number of passengers in the month of October, the number of passengers at Belgaum airport is more. This has made Belgaum airport the busiest airport in the state. Bangalore is the most frequented airport followed by Mangalore airport.
27262 passengers have departed from Belgaum airport in the month of October. A total of 522 flights have taken place in the month of October and compared to this, 2,04,000 passengers have traveled from Belgaum Airport in 3664 flights and 1,63,000 passengers have traveled from Hubli Airport in 3156 flights from April to October. Looking at these statistics, it has been found that Belgaum Airport has surpassed Hubli Airport as well.
In October too, 24359 passengers have traveled by air from Hubli airport and a total of 468 flights have taken off. In the two months of August and September, Hubli Airport is ranked followed by Bangalore and Mangalore. During this period, Hubli Airport was the busiest and third busiest airport in the state, but in the month of October, Belgaum Airport has overtaken Hubli Airport to become the top airport.
Every month the Airport Authority of India publishes the information about the arrival and departure of aircraft and the number of passengers at all the airports in the country. According to that information, Belgaum’s Sambara Airport has become the third busiest airport in the state in October. Even in July, Belgaum Airport reached the third position.
Belgaum Airport is continuously progressing. Belgaum Airport is ahead of Hubli in terms of passenger traffic, except for two months during monsoon. Due to the good facilities provided at the airport, the number of passengers is increasing significantly. Now RMO facility for aircraft maintenance and repair will also be provided at this airport. This will be important for the development of Belgaum and the number of flights at this airport is likely to increase again in the future. When checking the statistics of the current financial year, Belgaum has always been ahead of Hubli in the number of flights and passengers and due to the arrival of all the ministers and MLAs coming for the upcoming winter session, these trips are going to increase again.
