Union Public Service Commission conducts the exam every year for civil services like IAS, IPS, IFS, IES, other services. Three stage exams namely prelims, mains, personal exam are conducted to select the candidates for these services. Candidates who qualify the prelims exam will have to write the mains exam.

There will be 2 qualifying papers in UPSC CSE Mains Exam. These are language newspapers. There are 7 papers considered for merit, out of which paper 6, 7th will be optional subject papers.

There will be a UPSC Mains written exam for a total of 1750 marks.
There will be a personality test for 275 marks.
There will be Mains written test and interview for total 2025 marks.
