The Government has now directed to withdraw all such appointments immediately, if they are given employment in various Departments / Corporations / Boards / Universities of the State Government, considering the diploma and engineering degree qualification obtained from various Universities / Examination Boards through open and distance education. A circular has been issued in this regard in the Karnataka Rajyapatra.

Diploma / degree qualifications obtained through open and distance education related to technical education subjects are not recognized by AICTE (All India Council of Technical Education), New Delhi.

But considering the said qualifications, various departments/corporations/boards of the state government have filled the posts of various groups by direct recruitment/promotion, this decision has been taken in the background of this decision and it is suggested to withdraw the said posts.

Further, all the recruiting authorities under the State Government are informed to seek clarification from the Technical Education Department regarding the validity and technical issues of the Diploma/Engineering Degree qualification submitted by the candidates while filling up the posts of various groups through direct recruitment/promotion on the basis of Diploma/Engineering Degree qualification.
