Due to lack of milk in the district, provision of pregnant women and children with babies

Due to non-supply of milk powder to the Department of Women and Child Welfare, more than 5 lakh children including pregnant and child-bearing women in Belgaum district have to be deprived of milk and due to this there is a lack of nutrition in women and children.

To prevent malnutrition, milk is distributed to pregnant women and children under Kshirbhagya Yojana by the state government. For this, milk powder is distributed to Anganwadi centers.
