There are 18 assembly constituencies in Belgaum district, similarly the number of Zilla Panchayat, Taluka Panchayat and Gram Panchayat members is high. There are more urban local bodies including Belgaum Municipal Corporation in the district, so most EVM machines are required for Belgaum.
