A total of 7,69,981 posts have been sanctioned so far including departments, institutions, corporations, boards under Karnataka State Government. Out of these posts 5,11,272 employees are working. The number of posts to be filled by the state government is 2,58,709. The question has now arisen among the unemployed educated citizens of the state whether the Congress party will fill up so many vacancies as promised in the election manifesto. Similarly, the challenge of filling these posts is before the state government.

Most of the posts are vacant in school education department, health and medical education department, local administration department.

At present one-third of the posts in the state government are vacant. If these posts are filled, approximately 25 thousand crores will have to be set for salary in the financial year 2023-24. At present, the government has already earmarked 68 thousand crores for salaries for this financial year. It remains to be seen whether the government fills these vacancies and appeases the unemployed / acts as promised.

Because for two decades, the parties have been giving empty promises that all the posts will be filled during the elections. But after coming to power, its fate is different.
