Executive Officer / Assistant Secretary (Gazetted Probationary) Officer Number: 110 which can be filled through direct recruitment as per Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department cadre and recruitment rules. Out of them there are currently 59 Executive Officer / Assistant Secretary vacancies which can be filled through direct recruitment. The Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj and Information Technology and Biotechnology said in the Legislative Council that a proposal has been submitted to the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms to take necessary steps to fill up these posts.
At present there are more than 540 vacancies including 42 Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) and 110 Executive Officer posts. Sources said that the proposal has been submitted to fill up more than 200 posts, including 20 AC and 59 EO posts in 2023-24.

The Karnataka Public Service Commission has issued appointment orders to a total of 41 officers who appeared for document verification out of a total of 60 Executive Officers / Assistant Secretaries selected in the 2011 batch, and currently the said officers are performing duty. And in the last 04 years, a total of 140 Assistant Directors have been promoted to the post of Executive Officer / Assistant Secretary, said the Minister of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj and Information Technology and Biotechnology.
