Stalin wished music maestro Ilayaraja on his birthday

Chennai: On the occasion of Ilayaraja, the maestro of the South Indian music world, who turned 80 on Friday, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Happy birthday to Stalin.

On Twitter, Stalin wrote in Tamil: ” He doesn’t just create music. He touches the heart through music. Our father M. Stalin said that Karunanidhi greatly admired Ilayaraja’s music and called him ‘Isaijnani’ or musical sage. South Indian superstar Kamal Haasan also hailed Ilayaraj as the ‘Emperor of Music’ on Twitter.

Ilayaraja’s music mainly reflects the richness of Tamil culture. Many of his followers commented on Twitter about how his music expresses a wide range of emotions.

The music maestro was born in Pannaipuram village in Theni district of Tamil Nadu. He has worked in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi and Marathi films for over six decades.
