The government has issued a new circular for Corona management

Keeping in view the serious situation of corona outbreak in China, America and Japan, the Indian government has issued a guide list regarding the use of ‘testing, detection, treatment and vaccination’ to prevent corona in the country. Apart from this, the Chief Minister and the Health Minister have reviewed the Corona situation in the state. Accordingly, a new Corona protocol for testing and vaccination compliance has been issued.

According to the new corona protocol, corona tests should be increased keeping in mind the current situation and it will be mandatory for hospitals to conduct corona test of all ILA/all patients found.

It should be ensured that those who show symptoms of the disease, especially those who are in contact with corona infected patients, are tested. District administration and BBMP should provide adequate testing teams to ensure that the testing of patients with symptoms of the disease does not go unnoticed.

2 per cent random screening of passengers in place at Bangalore BIAL Airport and Mangalore Airport should be continued and further guidelines of GOI in this regard should be followed. Samples of all corona infected patients should be sent to laboratories for whole genome sequencing. By organizing vaccination camps at all levels, booster dose vaccination should be accelerated from the current 20 per cent to 50 per cent from December 2022 to January 2023 as per supply.

Preparedness of Public (Government) and Private Hospitals – District hospitals and Government Medical College Hospitals should have minimum beds available for isolation of special corona patients. Public and private health care facilities should be ready to handle a sudden increase in the number of corona patients. Hospitals at district and taluk level should be kept ready with assessment of medical preparedness in terms of oxygen supply, medicine and manpower. All district and taluk level hospitals should conduct a dry test of their oxygen infrastructure at least once in 15 days to ensure that oxygen is adequate. The use of face masks will be mandatory for doctors and medical staff at health care facilities, including patients, their attendants and those visiting patients.

All health care workers should be instructed to receive a dose of the Corona vaccine immediately. The State District Health Administration and BBMP Health Administration have been instructed to closely monitor that strict adherence to the above list of guidelines will be implemented to maintain the success achieved so far in the prevention and control of Corona outbreak.
